Adhan and Its Wisdom (اذان اور اس کی حکمت)
Introduction (تعارف)
English:
Adhan (Islamic call to prayer) is one of the most beautiful and significant symbols of Islam. It is not only a reminder for Muslims to perform Salah (prayer) but also a declaration of the oneness of Allah and the finality of the Prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ. The wisdom behind Adhan reflects deep spiritual, social, and communal values in Islam.

اذان اسلام کی خوبصورت اور عظیم علامتوں میں سے ایک ہے۔ یہ نہ صرف مسلمانوں کو نماز کی یاد دہانی کراتی ہے بلکہ اللہ کی وحدانیت اور نبی اکرم ﷺ کی رسالت کا اعلان بھی ہے۔ اذان کی حکمت میں روحانی، سماجی اور اجتماعی پہلو پوشیدہ ہیں جو اسلام کی عظمت کو ظاہر کرتے ہیں۔
What is Adhan? (اذان کیا ہے؟)
English:
Adhan is the Islamic call to prayer, proclaimed five times a day from the mosque. It was introduced during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Madinah, after a companion, Abdullah ibn Zayd (RA), saw it in a dream, which was later confirmed and approved by the Prophet ﷺ.
اردو:
اذان نماز کی دعوت ہے جو دن میں پانچ مرتبہ مسجد سے دی جاتی ہے۔ یہ مدینہ منورہ میں نبی اکرم ﷺ کے دور میں رائج ہوئی جب صحابی حضرت عبداللہ بن زیدؓ نے خواب میں اذان کا طریقہ دیکھا، جسے نبی کریم ﷺ نے پسند فرمایا اور اسے مقرر کر دیا۔
Words of Adhan (اذان کے کلمات)
English:
- Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)
- Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa Allah (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah)
- Ash-hadu anna Muhammadur Rasulullah (I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah)
- Hayya ‘ala as-Salah (Come to prayer)
- Hayya ‘ala al-Falah (Come to success)
- Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah
اردو:
- اللہ اکبر (اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے)

Hadith about Adhan (اذان کے بارے میں حدیث)
English:
The Prophet ﷺ said: “When the Adhan is called, Shaytan runs away breaking wind so that he will not hear the call.” (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim)
اردو:
نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: “جب اذان دی جاتی ہے تو شیطان ایسی حالت میں بھاگتا ہے کہ آواز نہ سن سکے۔” (صحیح بخاری و مسلم)
