Introduction

In Islam, belief in angels is one of the six articles of faith. A Muslim’s faith is incomplete without acknowledging the existence of angels, who are created from light by Allah. They carry out divine commands, record deeds, and serve as a bridge between Allah and His creation.

اسلام میں فرشتوں پر ایمان چھ ارکانِ ایمان میں سے ایک ہے۔ کسی مسلمان کا ایمان اُس وقت تک مکمل نہیں ہوتا جب تک وہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے پیدا کردہ فرشتوں کے وجود کو نہ مانے۔ فرشتے نور سے پیدا کیے گئے ہیں اور اللہ کے احکامات بجا لاتے ہیں، اعمال لکھتے ہیں اور مخلوق و خالق کے درمیان پیغام رسانی کرتے ہیں۔

Nature and Creation of Angels

Angels are created from light (Noor). Unlike humans and jinn, they do not have free will. They never disobey Allah and are always engaged in worship and service of Allah.

فرشتے نور سے پیدا کیے گئے ہیں۔ انسانوں اور جنات کے برعکس اُن کے پاس اختیار (Free Will) نہیں ہے۔ وہ اللہ کی نافرمانی نہیں کرتے بلکہ ہمیشہ اُس کی عبادت اور اطاعت میں مصروف رہتے ہیں۔

Duties of Angels

Each angel has a specific duty assigned by Allah:

Jibreel (علیہ السلام): The angel of revelation, who brought Allah’s message to prophets.
حضرت جبرائیلؑ: وحی لانے والے فرشتے جو اللہ کا پیغام انبیاء تک پہنچاتے ہیں۔
Mikaeel (علیہ السلام): Responsible for rain and provision.
حضرت میکائیلؑ: بارش اور رزق کی تقسیم کے ذمہ دار۔
Israfeel (علیہ السلام): Will blow the trumpet on the Day of Judgment.
حضرت اسرافیلؑ: قیامت کے دن صور پھونکنے والے۔
Azrael (علیہ السلام): The Angel of Death, responsible for taking souls.
حضرت عزرائیلؑ: موت کے فرشتے جو روح قبض کرتے ہیں۔
Kiraman Katibeen: The two angels recording good and bad deeds.
کراماً کاتبین: وہ دو فرشتے جو انسان کے نیک اور بد اعمال لکھتے ہیں۔
Munkar and Nakir: Questioning in the grave.
منکر و نکیر: قبر میں سوال کرنے والے فرشتے۔

Importance of Belief in Angels

Belief in angels strengthens a Muslim’s faith in the unseen (Ghaib). It reminds us that nothing goes unnoticed, as our deeds are being recorded every moment. It also builds a strong connection between Allah and His creation, showing His mercy, justice, and power.

فرشتوں پر ایمان انسان کے عقیدے کو غیب پر مضبوط کرتا ہے۔ یہ ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ ہمارا کوئی بھی عمل چھپا ہوا نہیں ہے بلکہ ہر لمحہ لکھا جا رہا ہے۔ یہ ایمان انسان اور اللہ کے درمیان ایک مضبوط رشتہ قائم کرتا ہے جو اللہ کی رحمت، انصاف اور قدرت کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

Conclusion

Belief in angels is a core part of Islamic faith. Every Muslim must believe in their existence and roles without doubt. It strengthens our connection with Allah and makes us conscious of our actions.

فرشتوں پر ایمان اسلامی عقیدے کا بنیادی حصہ ہے۔ ہر مسلمان پر لازم ہے کہ وہ ان کے وجود اور ذمہ داریوں کو دل سے مانے۔ یہ ایمان اللہ سے قربت پیدا کرتا ہے اور ہمیں ہمارے اعمال کے بارے میں زیادہ محتاط بناتا ہے۔
